AACO Day at the Regional Food Bank
Help feed Oklahoma's hungry and volunteer at the Regional Food back with the AACO. The Regional Food Bank distributes food through a network of more than 1,300 community-based partner agencies, schools and community organizations. In order to provide food assistance to Oklahomans who are food insecure, our programs take a unique approach to meet the need. The Regional Food Bank is working hard to end childhood hunger in Oklahoma through four programs that provide chronically hungry children with the meals they need to thrive.
Volunteer activities may include:
- Assembling sacks of nutritious food for the Food for Kids Backpack Program
- Packing Commodity Supplemental Food Program boxes full of food for seniors living on fixed incomes
- Sorting and packing bread, produce, package meals and/or cans
- Tagging bags
- Cleaning
Because the Regional Food Bank’s inventory changes daily, the Regional Food Bank cannot guarantee volunteers who sign up to work in the Volunteer Center will pack and prepare food for a specific program.
