The Apartment Association of Central Oklahoma is involved in numerous Community Service Project
Each year, the Apartment Association of Central Oklahoma is involved in several area community service projects. The AACO Board of Directors along with the Community Service Committee identifies avenues through which the Association and its members may make worthwhile contributions to the AACO service area. Member involement is encouraged and opportunities are available to volunteer and fundraise for our The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, Leah's Baskets and The Be Thankful Dinner which benifits The Red Andrews Christmas Dinner.

AACO volunteers gather at various times throughout the year to work as a team at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, Many times properties will host food drives and our members will collect and deliver donated items to the Food Bank as well.

Leah's Baskets
Four times a year members of the AACO come together to create 200 fun baskets to be delivered to OU Children's hospital. These special baskets are delivered for Valentine's Day, Easter, 4th of July and Halloween. Along with the baskets the volunteers host a party in "The Zone" play area at the hospital where the volunteers pass out baskets, help with crafts, play games and hang out with patients and they families. This is all made possible by donations collected by our members throughout the year.

The Red Andrews Christmas Dinner
Members donate toys and coats throughout the year on top of a huge toy and coat drive between Thanksgiving and Christmas to support the Red Andrews Christmas Dinner. We also host our annual Be Thankful Dinner and Silent Auction during which all proceeds go to benefit the Red Andrews Christmas Dinner. A Christmas Day tradition since 1947, the Red Andrews Christmas Dinner provides warm meals, toys and coats to thousands of Oklahomans each year.
